Star wars.

If the Force Awakens hits many of the same story beats as A New Hope, then The Last Jedi works in the same spirit as The Empire Strikes Back: it's original, it's controversial and it breathes new life into The Star Wars franchise. Not all fans will appreciate the movie's darker and edgier take on Jedi philosophy, but the movie clears new ground for the series and features a diverse and compelling cast who have plenty of room to grow and surprise us. Along the way, Mark Hamill gives a stellar performance as an older, grumpier Luke who is set on being a hermit, but can't seem to leave his hero days behind.
