This first novel is an intro into one of my favourite, and in my opinion one of the most underrated Urban Fantasy series, The Dresden Files. The characters are fun and interesting, and developed even further in the later novels. The writing style is perfectly descriptive and easy to read without droning on as authors sometimes do, and the way that magic works is fleshed out, and mechanically sound. Over all, a fun read, and one I’d highly recommend.
