Reich is a genetics researcher who has opened the door to the fascinating question of human evolution and does a good job explaining the rapidly changing field. Reich has been able to show that Neanderthals inter-bred with humans, that another extinct (ghost) population also bred with humans, and that much of what we think about who settled where simply isn't correct. Reich's style is very approachable despite the heady nature of some of the ideas explored. This book is a great conversation starter.
