Are you an avid sports fan, interested in player statistics? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a general manager?
The world of Fantasy Sports allows fans of various leagues to see what it is like to scout, draft, and manage a professional sports team. With the use of sites like Yahoo Sports, fans have access to real-time updates on games, allowing them to track player statistics. These statistics are then used by the participants to rank players according to their individual preferences. A draft is then held, where participants build their virtual teams comprised of current active players from a given league (NHL, NFL, MLB etc.). The goal is to build a team comprised of players with the highest weekly statistics to beat your fellow managers.
The draft is often seen as the most exciting part of the fantasy season. This is why we are excited to announce that on Thursday, March 23, 2017 Idea Exchange will be hosting our first, ever, MLB fantasy sports draft! Participants will have access to our WiFi, mobile laptop lab, and iPads, as well as advice from our team’s commissioner and long-time fantasy sports participant.
New to the world of fantasy sports? Join us on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 to learn the ins and outs of this increasingly popular game. Participants will learn how to operate a team using the Yahoo Sports website and app, what to look for in a draft, and how to actively participate in the league season.
With the Major League Baseball season around the corner, excitement is building. Now is your chance to meet other MLB fans in the community, and compete to win prizes and bragging rights.
