Make a wish!
Local teen artists are invited to join the Wish Cloud Project at Idea Exchange. This community-wide collaborative art program runs now through December. Participants can even get free art supplies to contribute to the project. Generate a wish on one side of a cardboard circle, supplied by Idea Exchange, and an image inspired by that wish on the other side.
Make a wish for yourself, someone else, the world, or all of the above!
Make one circle or several! For every circle an artist contributes, they’ll be entered into a draw for some gift cards from Michael’s Arts & Crafts.
Artists can use any media they want so long as the end product fits on their circle, is relatively flat (suitable for digital scanning), and has a wish on one side and an image on the other.
All contributions will be gathered together and displayed at one of Idea Exchange’s locations as well as digitized and displayed online.
Participants are also invited to register for some online Create Together sessions with Kim, one of Idea Exchange’s artists extraordinaire. Remember our Stranger Things Escape Room monsters? That was Kim! Participants will discuss the project their wishes, their techniques for creating their circles, pitch ideas for future circles to the group, learn from each other, and meet other teen artists across the community.
You can pick up your cardboard circles at our Clemens Mill location. Upon registering, you can ktoth [at] ideaexchange.org (subject: Teen%20Wish%20Cloud%20Project) (contact us) if you’d like us to get you some art supplies to use for the project (supplies are limited).
Our Create Together sessions are on Thursday, October 8 from 5:00 - 5:30pm and Tuesday, November 3 from 5:00 - 5:30pm. Register now to join us!
You can drop off your completed circles at any Idea Exchange location from now until Friday, December 11. The gift card draw will be held the following week and our winners will be contacted.
