These days, Alanis Morissette is mostly known for her song Ironic, in which she lists off several things that aren't actually ironic. Lots of people, myself including, have made fun of this. But if you listen to the whole album, you'll realise how incredible it is. Her voice is skilled, but angry and raw. It's intense, but it's awesome. She expertly dissects the emotions of being a teenage girl, from rage - You Oughta Know - to family problems - Perfect - to friendship - Mary Jane. Look past her reputation, and you'll find 13 mid-90s bops that still thrill and relate 24 years later.
