"I am not crazy, my reality is just different from yours." - Cheshire Cat, Alice in Wonderland
It’s not hard to admit that we all feel a little topsy-turvy right now. Our world has turned upside down, and as we plummet through this rabbit hole known as the COVID-19 pandemic, things just look a little different. And we’ve no idea what the world will be like when we arrive at the bottom. It’s time to take some notice of the oddness it all, because this too shall pass, and we will want to remember.
“Alone Together: A Cambridge Quaranzine” is an online periodical that invites our community to submit creative work exploring how we survive and thrive during these backwards, bottoms-up times. It’s a chance to contribute to the telling of our local experience. Who were the heroes? What were the challenges? How did we get right-side up again? What was the everyday reality of this experience?
We are looking for those stories from you, our community. Don’t be shy! From the most honed artists and writers, to those of us who like to dabble, there is a place for your voice in this magazine. So, get creative and submit! Our Call for Content outlines some of the kinds of materials we’d like to include, but we are open to other ideas exploring the first four issue topics: Staying Home, Staying Connected, Looking for the Helpers, and Looking to the Future.
Issue #1 is now out! Click the cover below to read:
“For, you see, so many out-of-the-way things had happened lately, that Alice had begun to think that very few things indeed were really impossible.”
