New location. New volunteer opportunities.

In a few short weeks the Idea Exchange, Old Post Office location will open the doors to a wealth of new services, resources and opportunities for discovery. From basement to attic, aka Creative Studios to Makerspace, each nook and cranny of this spectacularly reimagined heritage building will be chock-full of stuff you want to get your hands on. Audio and digital suites, robotics, sewing machines, 3D printers and scanners, gaming lounge, restaurant…and the list goes on.

This space is purely and proudly a Cambridge endeavour, pretty much the first of its kind in Canada. The purpose: to unleash the creativity, the urge to discover and the commitment to life-long learning that resides in our community. What better way to be part of this dynamic quest than to volunteer?

Volunteer opportunities at the Old Post Office include tasks like guiding tours, media studio support and innovation volunteering. You can lend a hand in the makerspace or assist us with a robotics activity. You can volunteer at an event or in a program. To get you started, you will meet with the volunteer coordinator to find the tasks that interest you and ensure you have the proper training to do them well. Then it’s up to you.  Our flexible volunteer program puts booking in your hands, so you can sign up for the days and times that work for you.

So if you are looking to learn, collaborate and contribute to a vibrant community, fill out an application today. We’re waiting to welcome you to the team.
