Common Waters is a major collaborative project lead by Cambridge Art Galleries and BRIDGE Centre for Architecture. This large-scale initiative will be comprised of art installations, activations, events, and conversations that examine and interrogate our relationship with water.
There is an open call for submissions to community members, traditional knowledge keepers, artists, designers, and scientists to create proposals to be part of this project and funding is available for selected projects. The aim is to challenge the boundaries of traditional exhibitions; to find new ways of thinking and talking with each other about water and its impact on our communities and relationships. Proposals may include installations, performances, conversations, workshops, art pieces, gatherings, activities, and anything else. The deadline for submission is Monday, February 18.
Common Waters will take place from June 17 and September 22 at Design at Riverside Gallery, the BRIDGE storefront, and other spaces along the Grand River in Galt, Cambridge. A project launch celebration is planned for Friday, June 17 at 7pm at Design at Riverside.
Visit https://www.common-waters.com/ to submit a proposal and to access more information about the project.
BRIDGE Centre for Architecture and Cambridge Art Galleries gratefully acknowledges support from its funders: Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council, the City of Cambridge, and Waterloo Architecture.
