Room Booking
Cambridge Public Library offers a variety of room options available for booking by library members and the wider community. Some of these are study rooms dedicated to quiet work for individuals and small groups, but there are also spaces created to accommodate unique learning needs and working on creative projects.
Room Booking Terms of Use
All Cambridge Public Library room usage is subject to the Room Booking Terms and Conditions and the Cambridge Public Library Code of Conduct.
Spaces, such as the Multi-Sensory Room, the KineStudy Room, the AV Recording Rooms and the Third Floor Classroom, have more specific guidelines for use. Please consult the individual room listings below and check with staff at the booking location for more information on using these areas.
Study Rooms
Study rooms are available free of charge at the Queen's Square and Clemens Mill locations. All rooms have power sources for charging of computers or devices. The following booking rules apply:
- A current teen or adult Cambridge Public Library membership is required to book the study rooms at Clemens Mill.
- Study room reservations can be made up to seven (7) days in advance.
- Bookings are made on a first come, first served basis.
- There is a limit of three (3) hours per day of study room use. This applies whether an individual or a group is using the space.
- The room will only be held for 10 minutes past the reservation start time, at which point the entire reservation will be cancelled. Please let us know if you need to cancel the reservation.
- The study rooms are intended for quiet study and small group work. We cannot guarantee that our study rooms will be free from background noise.
- Cambridge Public Library is not responsible for any items left in the study rooms.

Queen's Square Rooms
Glass Study Room

The Glass Study Room at our Queen's Square location can accommodate up to four (4) people.
The room contains the following equipment:

Clemens Mill Rooms
The following rooms are available at the Clemens Mill location:
KineStudy Room

The KineStudy Room provides a unique way of supporting those who study and focus best when they're being more active. The space features movement-friendly equipment and can accommodate up to five (5) people. This room contains the following equipment:
- Wobble stools and other movement-friendly seating options
- FitDesk bike
- Whiteboard and whiteboard tables
- Lap desks and other kinesthetic study accessories
Please note that this room does not contain a TV screen.

Multi-Sensory Room

The Multi-Sensory Room is designed to respond to members' sensory processing needs, providing a tranquil space that both calms and stimulates the senses.
Time spent in a Multi-Sensory Room can:
- increase concentration
- improve motor skills
- enhance creativity, social relations, and communication
Elements featured in the room that assist with this include:
- interactive wall panels
- a sensory light projector
- soft seating
- tactile sensations
- reflective materials
- an aquarium bubble tube
The room can be booked for 60 minutes and is limited to one session per day. A membership card is required for the booking.

Orange Study Room

The room can accommodate up to five (5) people and contains the following equipment:
- TV screen
- HDMI cable
- Cable adapters available at Member Services Desk
- Whiteboard

Old Post Office Rooms
The following rooms are available at our Old Post Office location, which is a premium venue situated on the Grand River with spectacular views of the surrounding area. It is an architecturally-stunning facility housing a digital library.
All requests for Old Post Office room bookings and rentals must be made by phone or in person. Online bookings are not permitted at this time.

Audio Video Recording Rooms

The Creative Studios, located on the lower level of the Old Post Office, provides access to two 10 x 5.5-foot soundproof AV rooms and audio and video recording equipment. A full list of available equipment and software is available here.
- A teen, adult or non-Resident Old Post Office Cambridge Public Library membership and a signed waiver is required for recording room booking and equipment use.
- Recording room bookings can be made up to seven (7) days in advance.
- Bookings are made on a first come, first served basis.
- The room will only be held for 10 minutes past the reservation start time, at which point the entire reservation will be cancelled. Please let us know if you need to cancel the reservation.
- Any equipment setup time will be included in your booking time.
- Food and drink is not permitted in the rooms.
Third Floor Classroom – Rental

The third-floor classroom is primarily for the provision of Cambridge Public Library programs to support the digital library. When not in use by Cambridge Public Library, paid rentals are available.
- Rental cost: $30/hour +HST with whiteboard only; $50/hour +HST with whiteboard and equipment
- Equipment includes:
- 85" Smart TV
- Clickshare to share up to two computers to TV
- Wireless HD video extender for HDMI
- Capacity: 10 people
There is no charge for the use of a Cambridge Public Library meeting room when the purpose is to provide a Cambridge Public Library program or service or to hold a meeting of City of Cambridge staff or council members.
