The Multi-Sensory Room at our Clemens Mill location is designed to respond to members' sensory processing needs, providing a tranquil space that both calms and stimulates the senses.
Time spent in a Multi-Sensory Room can:
- increase concentration
- improve motor skills
- enhance creativity, social relations, and communication
The room caters to those who may have found contemporary library environments overwhelming. Elements featured in the room that assist with this include:
- interactive wall panels
- a sensory light projector
- soft seating
- tactile sensations
- reflective materials
- an aquarium bubble tube
Our goal is to ensure that everyone can comfortably access the range of resources our library space has to offer.
The Multi-Sensory Room will be available at no cost for 60-minute bookings. Bookings can be made by phone at 519-740-6294, a membership card is required for bookings.
