Following the ambitious mounting of The Whole Shebang: a research project in late in 2017, Design at Riverside will showcase a selection of works from the Contemporary Fibre Collection to further the conversations of preservation and presentation of works held by Cambridge Art Galleries. Over 115 Canadian artists are represented in the permanent collection dedicated to fibre based works.
The Licensed to Show exhibition series continues the work of maintaining, caring for, and licensing of works to ensure best practices in presentation of objects from the collection. In this edition works by Lily Yung will be the main feature, along with pieces that reside on the edges of industrial design and manufacturing within the textile discipline.
Join us for a closing reception of Licensed to Show Part 2 exhibition on March 30th from 2 to 5pm at Design @ Riverside Gallery. This is an opportunity to see selections from the Fibre Art Collection and meet the members of the newly formed Collections Committee who will oversee the next few years of collection development. Event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
