Alternative Transportation

Suzanne Carlsen

Alternative Transportation
2006

Alternative Transportation sets out to question our methods of mobility.  Suzanne Carlsen has created a series of ten hand-embroidered brooches each representing a mode of transportation. Using humour and wit she presents the viewer with “alternatives” to their cars and motorcycles. Hopefully in choosing their favourite mode of alternative transportation the viewer will think about human-powered transport, bicycles, walking or even in the colder months, in the correct city, skating.
