Extension(s) No. 1 is a continuation of Campbell's Model series that uses the human form as a site to investigate our relationship with the world in which we live. With this recent work she has chosen hair and artificial sinew to reference internal and external body components and function. Sinew binds, ties, and is a supporting force. Hair can be read as a decorative indulgence, or something unruly and erotic, a temptation to desire. Exceeding the limits of moderation and modesty, the excessive use of these elements suggests a flowing out from some unspecified inner flux.
Medium: artificial sinew, copper wire, dressmaker's form, fabric, horse hair, steel, threads
