Hoodoos
1987

The title Hoodoos derives from the geological mountain shapes found in southern Alberta. These shapes are sedimentary rock layers formed by the wind, sun and rain in the Alberta badlands. The work consist of thousands of pieces of coloured handmade paper which is torn and stacked in columns both free-standing and attached to the wall. The wall mounted pieces are emerging hoodoos- which create the illusion of water washing away the shape of the rock.
