New technologies, or ones new to you, can be intimidating. Sometimes you are starting with something new or you want to expand your knowledge of computers and other technologies. Your library is here to help with a wide range of services to assist in your search for tech-savvy.

Computers for Beginners

Computers for Beginners is a series of four one-hour instructional sessions to help you become more comfortable and confident using a computer. Throughout the series, you can learn how to use a mouse and keyboard, open and save files, browse the internet, and explore digital library resources in a supportive setting with a librarian and other learners.

Each class covers a different topic, you can register for the series or any ones that interest you more:

More Tech Help

“I need help signing into my Cambridge Public Library account.”

“How do I download an eBook on Libby?”

“I would like to log into Hoopla so I can start watching movies and TV shows”

“How do I find magazines and newspapers in PressReader?”

These are just a few examples of common questions our members ask. You can get individual help with questions like this and more by booking a tech 1-on-1 appointment (complete the Contact Us form) with a staff member at your selected location.

If you prefer to learn independently, or at your own pace, we offer a selection of video resources in Niche Academy to guide you through our Virtual Library and other resources. You can also find additional tutorial videos about how to use popular online resources like KanopyHoopla, and PressReader on our website.

For the more advanced and creative technology learners among us, you may be interested in learning more about technology offered at the Old Post Office’s Makerspace. Staff at this location can also help with a tech 1-on-1 appointment (complete the Contact Us form) or you can register for one of the Makerspace’s introduction programs.

Wherever you are in your technology learning journey, your library is here to help.
