During your next visit to one of Cambridge Public Library’s locations, you will notice new self-check stations. While they look a little different with a sleek black design and a built-in RFID scanner, they offer the same ease of use and convenience in an updated package.
Self-Check Functions
With the self-checks, you can:
- Check out items
- Renew items (if eligible)
- Look at your library account
- Print a receipt of your current borrowing
- Reserve public computers and release print jobs (at select locations)
Accessibility and Convenience
The new self-checks also provide handy features for accessibility and ease of use, such as:
- Increase font size
- Increase contrast on the screen
- Change the screen height
- Translate the self-check text into languages other than English, including French, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, and Mandarin
Feel free to give the self-checks a try to experience the features for yourself. If you’re curious but would appreciate some initial guidance, staff are also happy to help you get started with the new stations.
