What We Hold, a series of photographic and sculptural still lifes by artist Meera Margaret Singh, will be on display at the Queen’s Square Gallery on Saturday, June 21.

“Before I started curating, I had the opportunity to work with both Meera Margaret Singh and Noa Bronstein in different roles. Reuniting with them on What We Hold has reminded me of the positive memories I carry from working with them and how the relationships we develop with people throughout our lives leave a lasting impact.” expressed Karly Boileau, exhibition curator. “What We Hold is a moment for us to take pause and reflect on how life’s experiences shape and form who we are and who we become.”

Meera Margaret Singh traces familial histories and memories through objects—some joyful, others haunted, with her exhibition What We Hold. Books, shells, vases, trinkets, rocks, and plants narrate the time spent and the stories shared among family. Through her large-scale photographs and sculptures, Singh playfully considers the varied definitions of “inheritance”. The archive of a life is abundant.

The community is invited to a special opening event on Saturday, June 21 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm to tour the exhibition. What We Hold will be on display in the Queen’s Square Gallery until September 14, 2025.

What We Hold is co-presented in partnership with Gallery TPW and is supported and circulated by the Ontario Arts Council.
