Strike a Chord at Home
When you search our catalogue of items to borrow, you'll find ukuleles, guitars, amplifiers, and more! You can borrow and discover more than 25 musical instruments in our Unusual Things to Borrow collection with your membership. Instruments can be placed on hold for pick up at the location of your choice for a 3-week loan period.
If it’s your first time picking up an instrument or you need a little refresher, our collection offers books and DVDs with instructions for different skill levels. Search the library catalogue online for available titles.
Learn Music Online
Our Virtual Library is also a great source for musical inspiration:
- LinkedIn Learning offers courses with video instruction for all skill levels, such as Learning Music Notation, Acoustic Guitar Lessons, and Chord Basics.
- Hoopla not only offers digital music to borrow, you can also check out over 350 sheet music eBooks for a wide range of instruments and musical styles such as classical ballads, modern pop hits, and soulful blues.
- The online courses on Gale Courses teach six-week introductory sessions on musical subjects as Introduction to Guitar and Music Made Easy.
