These fragments are from a series that explores time and tradition. The works are executed in traditional crewel embroidery style, wool threads on a linen ground. The subject matter, traditional in itself, explores the seasons. Spring is represented by an acorn-like motif from which new growth emerges and fall is represented by swirling coloured leaves. However the distressing, ageing and general destruction suggest loss of innocence and expectations.
