It's the perfect time to sign up for a brand new membership or renew an existing one at Idea Exchange. Come into any location to stock up on the latest books, new puzzles and games, seasonal movies, and unique items to borrow, like our park passes.

At Idea Exchange, we love new seasons and fresh starts. We are always looking for new stories, fun programs, and incredible technology to share, and we want all of Cambridge to enjoy them with us. To help make that happen, we’ve joined other libraries across North America and permanently eliminated all overdue fines on late materials and removed all existing overdue fines. 

Whether you’re new to Idea Exchange, or it’s been a little while, here’s a refresher on what your free Idea Exchange membership card opens doors to:

• Thousands of books for every audience
• A growing collection of online resources, including eBooks, eAudiobooks, movies, eMagazines, music, online learning and more, brought directly to your device, wherever you are
• Exploration of our galleries at our Queen’s Square and Preston locations, as well as to over a hundred public art galleries across Ontario
• Access to Makerspace technologies like Cricut makers,  die cutters, state of the art 3D printers, an embroidery machine, and our laser cutter for cutting and etching wood and glass projects.
• Hundreds of graphic novels, DVDs, board games and video games for the latest systems
• Family passes to museums and both local and provincial parks
• Our five Idea Exchange locations, including the Old Post Office, which is complete with Makerspace, our Riverview Room, and the lower level Creative Studios, which feature a music hub, a green screen/photo studio, virtual reality, and two AV rooms with recording and digitization equipment
• All sorts of unusual items like GoPros, musical instruments and athletic/outdoor equipment
• Tools and seeds to start and tend your own garden
