Around the World with TD Summer Reading Club

Join one of Canada's most celebrated Summer Reading Clubs, which has won four national awards!

Kids can spend their summer reading, playing games, trying for prizes, and attending unique events with their library. The around-the-world fun starts at the TD Summer Reading Club Kick-Off Party on Friday, June 27 at Queen’s Square with a concert by Erick Traplin performing at 11:00 am. Register early for the club while playing games and participating in activities. 

Meet Us at the Summer Reading Club Desks

TD Summer Reading Club reporting begins on Monday, June 30 and runs until Saturday, August 16. Visit every day or just a few days over the summer to meet library staff, report your reading, find book recommendations, play games, and win prizes.

Clemens Mill and Preston

  • Mondays to Thursdays: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
  • Fridays: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm 
    (Arabic language reporting is available daily at Clemens Mill)

Note: The desks at Clemens Mill and Preston are closed daily between 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm.

Hespeler and Queen’s Square

  • Mondays to Thursdays: 10:00 am – 8:00 pm
  • Fridays and Saturdays: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
    (French language reporting is available after 5:30 pm, Monday to Thursday, at Queen’s Square)

Around the World: Art Stars

Get creative this summer with Around the World: Art Stars, an online summer art challenge. Each week a new around-the-world-themed mission will be posted to inspire your artistic expression, complete the mission, and submit a photo of your artwork for a chance to win. Register online and unleash your creativity this summer!

When you visit your local library you can also ask to use the Art Stars kit or visit the Cambridge Art Galleries' Art Cart in the Queen’s Square lobby on Tuesdays from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm to complete your weekly challenge

This program is open to participants aged 5 to 14. 

Access a World of Possibilities with Your Membership

Add extra fun to your summer and  explore our unique Unusual Stuff to Borrow collections, which include sports and recreation equipment, tech devices, games, and puzzles. Your membership allows you to borrow a variety of items for a busy summer.

If you prefer a quieter space, consider visiting our award-winning Multi-Sensory Room at Clemens Mill. This room features a bubble tube, interactive wall panels, reflective materials, soft seating, and more, making it a perfect grounding space for anyone. Bookings can be made by phone at 519-740-6294 or online through our Room Bookings tool. A membership card is required for bookings.
