Tech Help from Idea Exchange

New technologies, or ones that are new to you, can be intimidating. Fortunately, you don’t need to hide from them. We are here with a wide range of tech help services to assist you. 

You may have set a goal to become more familiar with common computer programs, to learn a coding language, or maybe you would like to use our Makerspace but don’t know where to start – a great place to start is with our staff and services.

Tech Training and Instructional Support

Idea Exchange offers various training for the technologies you can find in our locations. This includes instructional videos for laser cutting, 3D printing, machine embroidery, and more through Niche Academy, an online learning platform that offers tutorials. Additionally, we offer various programs that focus on our maker technology. In these programs, you can learn how to start using our available technologies and try some project ideas.

If you are struggling to use the resources in our Virtual Library, or would like an overview, you can also find instructional videos on Niche Academy for such online resources as Kanopy, Hoopla, and Libby. Instructional programming is also offered throughout the year and can be found on our online calendar.

Tech Learning on Demand

On-demand learning may work better with your schedule. For this option, you can log into LinkedIn Learning with your Idea Exchange membership. LinkedIn Learning provides pre-recorded training covering numerous subjects, including common computer programs and software, coding, website building, and more. Many of these courses are structured into shorter videos, making learning easy to fit into your routine. 

With your membership, you can also attend virtual Gale Courses, which offer scheduled online courses that allow students to learn alongside a cohort of individuals. These courses are led by experts in the field, allowing you to reach out to a knowledgeable instructor if you have any questions or want more guidance.
