Many Idea Exchange members have started to plan and prepare their gardens using the wide selection of seeds we offer year-round in Preston’s Seed Library cabinet.
As spring starts, gardeners can also pick up seeds at all our other locations from the Little Seed Libraries, which will be available until May. Each Little Seed Library will have some of our most popular vegetables, herbs, and flowers to choose from and help your garden grow.
One Seed, One Community Cambridge (OSOC Cambridge) is an initiative that unites the Cambridge and North Dumfries community in the shared experience of growing nutritious food and saving seeds. This year’s seed is the Watermelon Radish. These will be available at each of our locations in early March while supplies last.
Share in the full-circle process by planting, growing, attending workshops, saving and donating seeds, and donating radishes and other fresh produce to the Cambridge Food Bank. We hope you enjoy this beautiful and tasty heirloom variety this year.
Idea Exchange is also proud to be part of Bee City Cambridge. The Cambridge Bee City designation gave us a chance to look back at what we’ve accomplished and look forward to the future of pollinator possibilities. We hope to inspire you to join our community’s commitment to support native pollinators with awareness and action. We have many resources, events, and, of course, seeds, to help our community meet the goals of Bee City.
If you need more help with your gardening goals, our Preston location also has a garden tools collection to get your garden going. We also have books on a myriad of garden topics available to borrow through our catalogue.
Spring into gardening this year with help from Idea Exchange.
