The Seed Library has grown...
Preston has been the host location the Seed Library cabinet for many years. In past seasons, the Seed Library has provided kits of seeds at other locations, including the One Seed, One Community selection.
Access to seeds has expanded to include a Little Seed Library at each location, providing even more convenience and support for our community gardeners.
Each Little Seed Library includes a selection of eight popular vegetables, four popular herbs, and four types of flowers, including native varieties that are crucial for bees, monarch butterflies, and other pollinators. Help the City of Cambridge support our Bee City goals by planting and growing these pollinator-friendly flowers.
From mid-March to June, visit your library to browse and take what you need from the Little Seed Library. Each location will also gratefully accept seed donations at any time of the year to keep our seed-sharing growing. Open packages are accepted.
While you’re visiting, check out some of the books and other resources in our collection on gardening or borrow garden tools at Preston.
Happy gardening!
