Explore Our Locations

Clemens Mill

The Clemens Mill location is a public library that also serves as the school library for St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School, the first of its kind in Ontario. This location features maker and gaming equipment as well as community greenspace, with a variety of sports and recreation equipment available to borrow from the Active Living collection. The location is home to the award-winning Multi-Sensory Room.

Hespeler

The Hespeler location is a public library nestled in historic Hespeler village. The award-winning building is a fusion of the old and the new with a 100-year-old Carnegie library encased in a modern glass structure. The environmentally-responsible building features recycled white oak floors and a ceramic treatment on the glass to reduce sunlight intensity. The location is a great place to study with large tables, a cozy fireplace, and stationary reading bicycles.

Old Post Office

The Old Post Office is a multi-award-winning building as well as being designated a National Historic Site of Canada. This restored heritage building is now home to Canada’s first all-digital public library, offering breathtaking views of the Grand River from all floors, including the terrace, and free technology and maker programs for all ages. Each floor offers a unique area of exploration, including the Creative Studios, Children’s Discovery Centre, Makerspace, and Riverview Reading Room.

Preston

The Preston location features a public library and gallery located in the heart of the Preston Towne Centre. Here, you can enjoy the glowing fireplace in the winter and visit the community vegetable and pollinator garden in the spring and summer. The location houses a Seed Library and Tool Library, specialized collections which are unique to this location.

Queen’s Square

Located in the heart of downtown Galt, Queen’s Square features the largest public library collection in the city, as well as the main gallery and studio space for Cambridge Art Galleries. After exploring the gallery, relax with a book in the multiple study and reading areas, discover the large children’s department, or take in a special musical performance on the grand piano. The building is an active space hosting a variety of special events and activities throughout the year.

Libraries for Life

As individual as each of these buildings are, at their heart they each provide the community with the services and materials that many would expect to find at a public library:

Cambridge Public Library is always looking to the future. In partnership with the City of Cambridge, the Cambridge Public Library is excited to open a sixth location in the new Cambridge Recreation Complex at the south end of the city.

Scheduled to open in 2026, the new location will be a 12,600-square-foot space offering access to library collections, study spaces, a reading garden, Unusual Things to Borrow, and more.
