Each October we take a moment to thank and celebrate our Library Settlement Partnership (LSP) workers during LSP Week and this year we celebrate the amazing work of Tuba Sengul.

Ryan and Dani are both newer additions to the Youth Services team, beginning in the last year. As Teen Services Librarian at Clemens Mill, Ryan primarily serves the school community at St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School in a unique partnership with the Waterloo Region Catholic School BoardDani considers her position as Youth Services Librarian in Cambridge a dream come true and it gives her the chance to inspire youth at all our locations. They are both passionate about making the library an accessible and engaging space.

The library account email notices that Cambridge Public Library sends out to remind you when a book is due back or a hold is ready to pick up are getting a colourful new look. Don’t be surprised if the next notice you receive from us features new content such as photos, cover art, and convenient links to renew or manage your library account.We’ve been looking forward to giving our old notices an eye-catching make-over.Some key changes you may spot:

Since its inception in 1982, Fibreworks has celebrated the textile industry of the Grand River region through a biennial exhibition of fibre-based artworks. This influential exhibition has been pivotal in shaping Cambridge Art Galleries’ permanent collection of contemporary Canadian fibre art, evolving from showcasing Ontario-based artists to embracing talents nationwide.

The Cambridge Public Library Board and staff announced this week that a new chapter will begin for the organization. We will move from using the name Idea Exchange to Cambridge Public Library.

If you want to browse the collections, place holds, and manage your library account on a mobile device, Idea Exchange has an app for that!The new app offers convenient on-the-go access to searching library collections, placing holds, tracking your borrowing, viewing our location hours and services, and more. Make your Idea Exchange experience more seamless and accessible every day, wherever you go.

You will find Chris and Leah in the Fiction area of our Queen’s Square location, always ready to help you find your next great read and other library items to borrow. Chris began as a Member Services, Casual employee in 2022, and soon became a permanent member of the Information Services and Interlibrary Loan teams.

Updated Mobile Printing ServicesWe have updated the mobile printing service at Idea Exchange locations with Princh, a new mobile printing tool that is simple, efficient and convenient to use. Princh makes printing at your favourite Idea Exchange location a cinch. Much like our previous printing option, there are different methods you can choose to send your print jobs to Idea Exchange via Princh. This allows you to pick the one that works best for your needs.
